In just one month, the company now managing most sports betting in DC brought in nearly half as much revenue for the city as DC had received in the previous three and a half years, according to a report on Tuesday.
Story continues belowFanDuel, who now oversees sports wagering for the District, announced Tuesday it had brought in $1.9 million in revenue in its first 30 days of operation starting in mid-April.
From 2020 to early this year, the city’s previous gambling platform, GambetDC, had only brought in $4.3 million total – about $80 million below what was projected, based on numbers from D.C.
Before FanDuel took over, the city and its contractor Intralot had faced heavy criticism for launching their own app instead of going with an established company.
